Refuge for women

Grace Choi Architecture were brought on board to review and adapt an existing listed building, which is a refuge to 9 young women and children. Extra space is required for service providers to meet. Through discussions it became clear that a secure new entrance was also paramount to the building. We designed a dignified stone facade that respects the heritage of the place and provides a welcoming but protected entrance foyer.

Building works are carefully planned to allow residents to remain within the building during construction. A close working relationship with the Client body and Contractor is encouraged.
